Kaiser Alexander Pear
Origin:
Belgium at the
beginning of the XIX century, it develops good qualities when grown
in our provinces (FE, MO, BO, RO).
Features:
Big sized fruits, slightly
elongated shape with a wide base, dark skin, sometimes mostly total
russet, white-yellow and medium-thin flesh, slightly granular, with
good taste and aroma.
On the table:
Good at the end of a
meal, above all in combination with soft and blue cheese, ideal when
cooked with a thin layer of caramel before serving.
Collection:
From the second half of
September to the end of October.
Conservation:
Refrigerating rooms until
May.
